There are a few wonderful things in the world of which simplicity is an irrefutable component. A tire swing, a dog riding in the bed of a truck, a stumbling first kiss, each one is beautiful, without frills, and whole. I wanted to brew a beer just like that: simple, elegant, personal, and unerringly heartfelt. That’s why I’m so happy to be brewing Crown of Gold for you today, just for you. The recipe, as reasonable as can be, is American: a pale ale with lightly toasted rye malts, an adorably large dosing of whole leaf cascade late in the boil, and American yeast. Anyone can make this beer, and I encourage you to try. Dry and low in alcohol, Crown of Gold will be great this summer: light enough to drink a couple pints, but flavorful enough to pair with hearty barbecue. Go ahead, friend, put some more mustard on that hot dog. This beer was made for you.
Cheers!
Chris
